Lencioni starts a piece in a chaotic fashion by placing materials of all kinds on the surface. These random textured irregularities interrupt his sketches and mark making, heightening the tensions of the surface structure through instinctive primal expression. Lencioni is not interested in depicting a specific story, but interested in establishing a space to explore.

For the artist, each piece is an expression of a feeling. All the basic ingredients become an art form when they come to life in the eyes of the viewer. Each piece is flexible enough to express different emotions to individual viewers. The overall concept is the same, but to Lencioni, the final product is a magical, empathetic and sublime experience.
